Report Child Abuse

If you suspect abuse or neglect of a child, report it.

The safety of our students is of the utmost importance to Round Rock ISD.

Children should be safe, and adults are responsible for keeping them safe – we must be able to recognize signs of child abuse. Child abuse is when someone, whether through action or failing to act, causes injury, death, emotional harm, or risk of serious harm to a child.

Abuse to a child can be in the form of physical, sexual, emotional, neglect, or establishing an unhealthy emotional connection known as grooming.

As defined by Texas Family Code 261.001, ALL School District employees are required by state law to report any suspected child abuse or neglect, to a law enforcement agency, Child Protective Services (CPS), or appropriate state agency (e.g. state agency operating within 48 hours of the event that led to the suspicion. Employees must report to CPS suspected alleged abuse or neglect involving a person responsible for the child’s care, custody, or welfare (including a teacher).
